Grand Bassin is a sacred lake for the island’s Hindu community. See the statues and temples around the volcanic lake and learn about Mauritian religious traditions.

✅ 4. Gris-Gris Cliffs and La Roche Qui Pleure

At Gris-Gris, watch Indian Ocean waves break against the cliffs and take in the rugged southern coastline.

✅ 5. La Vanille Nature Park

La Vanille is a nature park in southern Mauritius, home to giant tortoises, crocodiles, monkeys, lizards, butterflies and other animals. Walk through the greenery, visit the insectarium and discover the giant tortoises. It is a popular visit for families and groups.
