Nature, Turtles and Heritage

Explore northern Mauritius on an eight-hour outing with private transport, combining gardens, local history and time by the coast. A departure between 08:00 and 11:00 is recommended to allow time for the stops.

🌿 1. Pamplemousses Botanical Garden

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden One of the oldest botanical gardens in the Southern Hemisphere, known for its giant water lilies, talipot palms and varied tropical and medicinal plants.

🏛️ 2. L’Aventure du Sucre

Set in a former sugar factory near the garden, this museum explores the island’s colonial history, its different communities and the development of sugar production.

Extra: Rum and speciality sugar tasting at the end of the visit.

🐢 3. Optional Turtle Outing at Trou aux Biches

Take a short boat trip from Trou aux Biches to see marine turtles in their natural surroundings.

Price: €29 per adult; €15 per child aged 0–5. Approximately two hours on a shared boat, with equipment provided. Guests pay the boat operator directly; Pallo Taxi takes no commission.

🏖️ 4. Mont Choisy Beach

A long white-sand beach where you can walk, swim or relax beneath the casuarina trees.

🛍️ 5. Grand Baie

Visit the north’s main tourist centre for shopping, the marina and coastal restaurants.

Lunch: We can recommend local restaurants serving Mauritian food.

⛪ 6. Cap Malheureux

See the red-roofed chapel facing the ocean, with views of Coin de Mire and the northern islands.
